Under the Act, City Clerk Rose HuĂ©ramo is the designated FOIA Officer for the City of Rochelle. 


All requests for non-exempt information must be addressed within five (5) working days of receiving the written request, unless additional time is warranted under the Act. If an extension is necessary, the requester shall be promptly notified via mail, email, or phone within the same five (5) day period. Commercial requests will be processed within twenty-one (21) working days. It is imperative to indicate whether the request is commercial in nature. Failure to disclose a commercial purpose, upon request by the public body, constitutes a violation of the Freedom of Information Act, as per 5 ILCS 140.3.1(c).


Fees:

  • The first fifty (50) pages are free (Black & white copies, letter or legal size)
  • Any page(s) after the first fifty (50) will be $.15 per page
  • Certification fee $1.00
  • Maps (zoning, comprehensive plan or others) $30/large, $15/small
  • City Code Book - order from Codifier
  • Comprehensive Zoning Plans/Book $50/ entire plan/book
  • Mailing: cost of postage

Requestors seeking unredacted copies of records must provide verification sufficient to prove eligibility to receive such records.

  • Please visit the Next Request Help Desk for assistance with accessing and managing your request
  • In-person or by mail at the City Clerk's Office on 420 N. 6th St, Rochelle, IL 61068 with a completed FOIA Request form

Filing An Appeal

All appeals must be submitted to the PAC Officer within 60 calendar days after the denial of the FOIA request.
